Boyfriend!!! Emmanuel Ikubese ( Most Eligible Bachelor)
With the world getting more and more crowded with personalities possessing star power, the ones who truly make a difference at the top of the ladder are the bold, strong and drop-dead-handsome – just like MAN’s latest cover star, Emmanuel Ikubese (Boyfriend). We sat down with the popular Actor, Model and Television Personality as he opens up on why relationships are not overrated, who would be in the right place to narrate his life’s story and advises his 12 year old self.
With a relaxed demeanor, Emmanuel graced the studio set in a calm, friendly and punctual manner that made it impossible for the MAN team to not enjoy working with him.
Throughout his career, Ikubese has demonstrated a level of discipline and intelligence that is rare among other actors of his generation. He has described himself as an “actor and a businessman” but actually there is more to him. He started out as a model while still in the university before going into music and finally winning the 2014 Mr Nigeria pageant. However with acting, his major breakthrough came when he landed his biggest role in the award-winning MTV dramas ‘Shuga’, which propelled the Delta native into a checklist of milestones.
“I will tell my 12 year old self never to give up and learn new things.” Emmanuel says as he reflects on his younger self. He describes himself as a very private person as we ask what life has been like since he became a celebrity. This doesn’t come as much as a surprise as it is indeed evident; even by looking at his social media pages. Ikubese is not one to flaunt his private life as ladies who have been waiting for certain reveals will unfortunately be disappointed once again.
As much as we tried to avoid discussing his relationship life, the striking actor had this to say as regards the potential of relationships being overrated. “I don’t think so. Many get into relationships for the wrong reasons. We are not meant to function single and alone; relationships are key.” Emmanuel’s answers from here on were humbly straight-forward and quick as he didn’t have much to say when asked what he’s learned about life, his current condition from being a celebrity, if anything in life were still a mystery to him and if there was anything he would want to give up in an instant if he got to an even better place than he currently is now. Finally, he mentions his mum and parents as the best narrators, if anyone was ever to narrate his life.
